NATIONAL PHARMACOVIGILANCE WEEK 17TH TO 23RD SEPTEMBER 2022 CELEBRATED

 

ADR Monitoring Centre, Department of Pharmacology celebrated National Pharmacovigilance week from 17th to 23rd September 2022 under the aegis of Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission, National Coordinating Centre, Pharmacovigilance Program of India, Ministry of Health & Family welfare, Government of India.  In this regard, several programs were conducted at the institute and community level to raise awareness regarding adverse drug reaction (ADR) reporting.

The week was flagged off on 17th September with display of Pharmacovigilance sensitization posters and banners placed at key areas in the College and Hospital building for the purpose of sensitization of healthcare workers as well as consumers.

An awareness talk was conducted on 19th September for undergraduate medical students regarding the importance of ADR reporting. Poster making contest, Idea hunt and video reel making contest were organized for the students based on the year’s theme ‘Encouraging patients to report ADRs”. The posters and videos created by the students were used for community sensitization through social media.

An awareness campaign was organized on 20th September at Family Health Centre, Kodencherry for Public health inspectors, Anganwadi workers and ASHA workers. The campaign received widespread appreciation from the participants.  

A Sensitization session on ADR reporting process was conducted on 23rd September for healthcare professionals wherein they were provided with hands on experience of filling ADR forms.

Overall, the week was celebrated with much gusto and enthusiasm and received appreciation from all sensitized sections of the society.
